The Ragtag community’s word prompt for today is VAST. And here’s a perfect example: Mount Kananaskis in Alberta, Canada. Photo courtesy of Akiroq Brost at Pixabay.
Oh, to have been there!
To have seen the heave,
the earth’s breaching,
like that of an immense whale,
to have heard the roar
of that rending and buckling
when the mantle rose
to meet the boiling clouds!
To have watched the creation
of this vast behemoth
that makes us all
and all our works
smaller than ants.
I love this! Read and re-read it a few times and savoured each line.

Thank you. Just to see one mountain rise would have been awesome x1000.

That really would be. I’ve just come back from whale watching and the poem really spoke to me.

I can’t say other than dawnbirdau. And to second your sentiment. To have been there, to have seen. Oh Yay!

I’m glad this thought that impressed me has also fired your imagination. 🙂

I’m hoping God has the whole process on a video disc so we can watch it over and over again! Love your poem, Christine.

Thank you. I’d love to see it all — from high above —but I fear the sound effects would be more than my ears could bear. Especially together with the flood waters roaring. 😉
