I’ve published this verse before, but it’s one of my favorites when thinking of the New Year. this time I downloaded an image from Pixabay and did a little artwork. 🙂
LOOKING FORWARD
I’ve shut the door on Yesterday,
Its sorrows and mistakes;
I’ve locked within its gloomy walls
Past failures and heartaches.
And now I throw the key away
To seek another room,
And furnish it with hope and smiles,
And every springtime bloom.
No thought shall enter this abode
That has a hint of pain,
And every malice and distrust
Shall never therein reign.
I’ll shut the door on Yesterday,
And throw the key away—-
Tomorrow holds no doubt for me,
Since I have found Today.
The power of positive thinking! It’s bound to be a good year.

I’m saying that to myself. I’ve had so many regrets this past week about what I could have/should have done, or would have, had I only known. 😦 But the time is past and I have to let it all go.

A beautiful poem! Finding “today” is not as easy as it sounds! Best of luck to you.

No, it isn’t. Sometimes we do have to make amends for the past, too, but I trust I’ll know when that opportunity arises without having to mull over it ahead of time. 🙂
