The Ragtag Daily Prompt this morning is: LOOKING OUT MY BACKDOOR.

We don’t have the new dusting of snow and hoar frost this morning, but our scenes are as above, all winterish white and gray. The odd magpie and crow visits or flies over now and then to add its own shades to the scene.

However, the other day when I drove out of my yard a huge bird took flight from a tall old tree at the edge of our yard; a second look told me the bird was a bald eagle. As it circled over the field just south of the road I was on, I got a good view of this regal bird.

If you haven’t already, why don’t you pop over and see how various bloggers have responded to this prompt. All bloggers are welcome to write and share their own posts on the topic. LOOKING OUT MY BACKDOOR
Hey, I have a photo of that magpie I took last week. Same pose. Same bushes. Or so it seems.

Magpies don’t vary a lot in their perch or pose, I guess. If you’ve seen one… 🙂
The ones that come around here may sometimes fly to our roof, close enough to peer in our window at me as I’m looking out.

I don’t see many close to the house, though they congregate on my daughter’s lawn.

The bald eagle is indeed a majestic bird in flight. Beautiful pics.

They are indeed and we get infrequent sightings of both species here, the bald eagle and the golden eagle.

All I can see is grey. No white snow, no sparkling frost, just grey. The grey rooftops look greyer than usual today. There are bored looking grey pigeons, and even the seagulls look grey today, Nevermind, soon be wine o’clock – red wine!

There are days like that. I’m glad I can go traveling to exotic locales via the internet. And you have Rosie to entertain you with her antics, too. 😉 Thanks for your comment, Keith.

On a three wek trip to Vancouver Island I saw my first bald Eagle. On telegraph poles alongside the road, I thought they should have been somewhere more … speciàl. Nice take on the prompt.

They should be a bird of the lofty heights, the wild mountain crags, right? No hanging around on a power pole or road sign. But they are scavengers. Thanks for your comment. 🙂
