Acquitting

The Ragtag Daily Prompt for today is ACQUIT

I’m rather slow on the draw today, partly for having slept in this morning and partly for having no brilliant thoughts about ACQUIT, ACQUITTING, or ACQUITTAL. Apart from “Did you hear the latest twitter from the US?”—and there’s not way I’m touching that subject.

But now I’ve searched through Goodreads and found a quote that intrigues me:

“It is better to acquit a thousand guilty persons
than to put a single innocent one to death.”
Maimonides Moses 1135-1204

On the surface this sounds quite noble. I’d never wish for an innocent person to suffer wrongfully, either. However, I really don’t appreciate the thought of a thousand guilty persons going about at large, carrying on their nefarious business. At least not in my area.

On to a different topic now:
I’ve noticed that Daily Addiction hasn’t been publishing prompt words for the past few days. Does anyone have more info on this?

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. Please leave a comment.
