Indeed we do even though it’s not always a good thing.
You’re right. When it’s a good example, that’s wonderful, but some relationships can cripple a person.
While posting this quote I thought of what a friend once said: “You never forget. It shadows every other relationship.” The “it” was the years of sexual abuse she suffered in childhood from her stepdad.
