The Ragtag Daily Prompt this morning is SUMMER FUN

Well, I’m looking out on a white world and watching more snow come down, so I’ll have to draw from memory’s pages — or scribblings. On Sunday evening I opened a tub that’s been stored away for awhile. This is my “finish and polish someday” tub. I dug through various scribblings and pulled out a number of half-baked poems to work on and post later. I’ve decided to type everything onto computer files ASAP, just to get rid of the paper clutter, and work on them as I have time.
Here are a few micro-poems that fit the SUMMER FUN category:
My best effort
to join the wren
in joyful melody;
sadly my tune
just hasn’t the wings!
morning light
Venus and a sparrow
share the bird bath
moth floating
in the bird bath
no life jacket
in this wind
even the young lord’s kite
bows
In response to #1
I heard a wren singing so sweet,
And I greatly admired the feat,
I tried to join in,
It said “Oi! Stop that din!”
“I can do without your awful bleat!”

Ha! And they try to tell you nature is a gentle, loving force. 🙂

A few nice pieces updated. I like the Venus / sparrow piece best. We’re in the same boat today, Christine: My Summer Fun post came from the Work-In-Progress File, and the last date I worked on it was almost 6 years ago. I think it’s almost there…

thanks for your comment. All those scribbled bits we poet stash away for “someday.” I could see them all going in the garbage when I’m gone, so best get them on file before then. 🙂

🙂 We’ve had so much snow — almost all the rain we didn’t get since August has landed on us this week.

Blech! We’ve had a couple of snow events, but nothing like you by the sound of it. Supposedly they are calling for a lot of snow in December and some really cold spells in Jan/Feb across the prairies. Sounds typical, doesn’t it?

Yes, here on the prairies we know that we never know what’s coming. 😉
