He tiptoed down the hallway
by moonlight shining in;
he tiptoed to the kitchen
and found the cookie tin.
Then suddenly — a flashlight! —
and sister’s shadow there.
“You’re eating cookies, aren’t you?
I’ll tell if you don’t share.”
Ragtag Daily Prompt this morning: TIPTOE
I woke up around 2:30 am and couldn’t sleep, so I’m tiptoe-ing around this morning, too. But my choice is a cup of coffee and fruit bread. 🙂
Did you go back to sleep after that coffee?

No. I later had a hot chocolate. 🙂 But at 6:30 I went back to bed and slept a couple more hours.

Caught in the act! I often come up with ideas for stories if I awake when I should be asleep!

The prompt was Tiptoe and of course… But, NO! I’m not doing anything about Tiny Tim or tulips. 😉
Yes, he was caught in the act. Perhaps the sister will have a career in govt someday. Thanks for your comment.

Seems you’ve been reading Judy Dykstra’s poems. Or are you the naughty sister in the cookie jar she mentioned yesterday?
Great fun poem, Christine.

I never thought of that poem, though perhaps some subliminal impression lingered. NO, I definitely am not that sister.
Actually I initially had brother eating the last of the brownies, but couldn’t get it to work in as well.

I didn’t think so, just teasing!
Yeah that is harder to rhyme in well. Good poem anyway!

My mom made a fruit bread at Christmas and it was delicious! Yum.

Did you sneak to the kitchen in the wee hours to finish it off?

No, but I would totally do that.😋
