Sticky Mud

The Ragtag Daily Prompt word this morning is CHUNK, and here’s my quickly scribbled response:

Mud Stains

If I should hurl a chunk of scorn
at some other's person,
hoping that their estimate
to the crowd will worsen

the crowd may hear me criticize
and take up the refrain,
but my hands, muddied by the deed,
will always show up stained.
