Here’s my second attempt at a verse that goes up by a syllable each line, then down the same way. And since this one maxes at ten, according to Dale it’s a double etheree. This was quite a bit of fun to work out. 🙂
Skint. No dough. Penury laughs in my face! ATMs spit out their paper tongues at me. “Balance at zero now, dude. Deposit more funds if you hope to get any more cash out of me. It seems your account’s overdrawn – again.” “Well I would if I could, believe me! I’m a starving author you know – earnings don’t match my outgo, insensate ATM! Just one more twenty. My wallet’s so woefully empty.” Sigh...
I like it.

One day at the donut shop a girl came in to buy six donut holes. Less than $1. She used her debit card, but no go. “Insufficient funds.” Skint. 🙂

That was kind of you. Yes, most of us have seen tough times at one point or another.

I really like this one. Makes being “skint” actually funny 🙂
