Geographically Challenged

A few decades ago a certain geography teacher was writing out report cards one evening. As he reached for the next envelope in the pile he saw that it contained the report card of a particularly obtuse student.

He thought of writing the truth, that the boy seemed incapable of figuring out east from west, but decided that would hardly encourage the lad or his parents. So he thought for awhile about how to make the truth known to Mom & Dad without slamming Junior too hard.

Finally he had it. With a wry smile he jotted down this comment:
“He does well to find his way home.”
